This exciting and fast-paced book is about a thirteen-year-old girl named Charlotte Doyle. Charlotte has to travel on a ship that is going across the Atlantic. With none of her friends and none of her family members, Charlotte has to try to make the most of being the only girl aboard. For the long and hard journey, Charlotte's dad gets her a big book with blank pages to keep track of her life on the ship. Along the way, Charlotte is drawn into a mystery that will change her life forever! This is a wonderful book and you should definitely read it!

While Gilda is there, she uncovers a past about the spooky mansion her uncle lives in.

Amari's life was wonderful until white men came into her peaceful community and murdered her whole family. Amari is the only one left in her family. She is now a slave that gets sold to mean and greedy owners. One day, Amari gets sold as a birthday present for a man's son. There, she meets Polly, a white girl, and before long they become friends. Then one day something happens that will change Amari and Polly's life forever. This was one of my favorite books and you should definitely read it!
