So I Was Wrong! (or, Why I Stopped Worrying and Learned To Love the Web)

Are you laughing at me??  Last time you came to this web address you were greeted with my little diatribe about how much better a real store was than an online store, and how you should come into RiverRun and meet us face to face.  I didn't want to be like the Big Box stores in any way, and I felt like web friends weren't as meaningful as in person, three dimensional friends. 

But guess what, I was wrong!  And here's why:

1) You are busy!   Many of my great customers, like Zeke, have told me that they would love to come in the store more, but simply don't have the time.  Wouldn't it be nice if there was a way that we could still chat about books?  Well know we can through these blogs.

2) You don't live here!  It's a shame that you don't live in beautiful Portsmouth, NH.  However, at some time you visited here and loved the place, and now you'd like to keep in touch with us and maybe even buy books online from us.

3) You are using Amazon!  We have a lot of very dear, wonderful customers who research titles on Amazon, print out their list, and then come in and buy the books from us.  I love those people, they make my heart swell with joy.  The least we could do is provide them with a place online to look up, and possibly buy books, without forcing them to go to the evil empire.  You can now do that by hitting the Buy Books Online button on any page.

4) Events!  Our events program has grown astronomically, and we needed a better way to display the information.  With over 100  book events happening at RiverRun every year, our new events calendar makes it easier for you to keep track.  And if you can't make it to an event, it's a snap to pre-order a signed copy and we will save it for you or mail it to you.

Of course, we still prefer you come into the store and see us.  We love to recommend books, and there is still no better way to browse what's new than wandering among our tables and shelves.
