Today through Saturday the 7th, get 20% off your entire purchase and maybe win a prize!!  Plus, come on Saturday night at 7pm and here an awesome performance by Skyler.

What have we accomplished in 10 years??  Let's take a look at how we measure up against Amazon:

Local employees-- RiverRun: 6 on average.  Amazon: 0

Local Property taxes paid-- RiverRun: $85,000.  Amazon: 0

Cash and Gift Card contributions to local schools and charities-- RiverRun: $70,000 Amazon: 0

Cultural Events Produced-- RiverRun--1000+  Amazon-- 0

Cheap Used Books-- RiverRun: yes  Amazon: yes

Discounts-- RiverRun: discounts to schools and nonprofits, frequent buyer program, book group program  Amazon: Lots

So they beat us on straight discounts, but over the years I hope we've showed Amazon a thing or two about the importance of community building (because I know they are watching us closely!!).

Thank you all for your support over the last decade.  We hope you will stop by this week and take part in our sale.

Digging into this one myself. Just fiisnhed the story The Wizards of Perfil . Brilliant piece of fiction. I highly recommend her to everyone on this site. Not only can she tell a good story, but the way she writes is new and fresh, and quirky (but in a good way, lol). Unfortunately I've never had an opportunity to see her. Portsmouth NH is a little out of the way for me, and I think I missed her when she came to Massachusetts last year, but if she ever comes back down to this neck of the woods I'll try to run out and see her.-George
