A look back on 2008 events at RiverRun and in Portsmouth

Can you believe it's 2009 already? Another year of lots of events is before us. I can't believe how many big-named authors we brought to Portsmouth in 2008.  Through community partnerships, we were able to bring everyone from Bill McKibben to Augusten Burroughs. How's that for variety? Take a look at a list of some of the big names we hosted.  Boston is considered one of the most literary cities.  I'd say Portsmouth is right up there; we are a city full of enthusiastic readers who come out to see debut authors and the big names as well. We're also a city that values community relationships and collaboration.  Thanks to people like the energetic folks at Seacoast Local, South Church, the Portsmouth Public Library, the New Hampshire Writer's Project, and The Music Hall, author readings are really successful and a valuable part of the culture of Portsmouth.

Take a look at some of the authors who gave readings in the past year.  What were your favorite events?
